Captain Jeff grew up in North West Georgia in a small town south of Chattanooga Tennessee. As a young child he often fished Chickamauga Lake, Nickajack Lake in Tennessee, and Lake Weise located in Alabama. After graduating High School in Ringgold Georgia in 1986, he joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. It was there where he met many great fishermen that introduced him to saltwater fishing. He first learned to fish from the local piers in the Myrtle Beach area but he always wanted to be a Myrtle Beach fishing guide, out on the water, to be where the action is, so he got a small boat and began learning just what was really out there beyond the horizon. He quickly learned that this was what he was meant to do and purchased a larger boat that would take him even further out to sea. Then his enlistment time with the Air Force was up and he chose to leave the military to settle down in Myrtle Beach and to start a family. He sold everything to be able to get his first home but deep inside he never lost that desire to chase the fish he loved to chase. So many years later, he purchased a john boat and went back to where it all started some 15 years in the past. It wasn’t long before he started remembering the trick and techniques to catch fish in Murrells inlet but every time he passed by the jetties opening to the Great Atlantic Ocean he knew he had to get back out there. He now owns a Key West 2400 Center Console and a Sea Hunt Bay boat built specifically to chase the sport fish off the South Carolina Coast. No matter what the species you want to target, an exciting day on a local reef, anchored up in the creeks of Murrells Inlet, or even an exciting day chasing Spanish and King mackerel, a trip with Captain Jeff will be a memorable one.
